Interviewer: So usually when an character gets cancer on a show you
expect them to die soon but, Unser's been hanging there a long time.
Dayton Callie: Most people that have cancer don't die. [inaudible

Interviewer: Well, because his health has been so up and down since
he's been diagnosed.
Dayton: Well, yes. The people seem to forget, and I hope you don't mind
me saying this, the first episode of this season is only like three days
after the last season. So the whole six years has only been like a year and
a half or so.
So that's not a long time to get sick and die. I mean, people do live
a couple of years. I mean, that's all I can answer for that.
Interviewer: Okay. That makes sense.
Dayton: As long as I'm in the script, I'm alive.
Interviewer: I like it, I like it.
Dayton: It's all I think about.
Interviewer: What do we see with Unser's relationship with the group
this year? Is he in with them, is he kind of on the outside? What are we
seeing?
Dayton: Well, I don't think he'll ever be. I mean, he's been on the in
since day one, so I think it's always going to be that. He's caught up in
their conflicts. You saw the last season? He's embedded with the club so
he's in their problems.
Interviewer: Is he still going to be there for Jax as far as the advice
and just kind of guiding him a little bit in his presidency?
Dayton: Well, I think I do that with everybody. I think I actually try,
when they ask my opinions, I'm not shy on giving. So I think that will
continue.
