In the last few years,
the automobile industry
has gone above and beyond to find new ways of fueling cars.
Hybrid vehicles are one of the most sought-after types,
which use electricity as one of the power sources.
However, recently people have found ways to run vehicles on biofuel
and solar power.
But the Japanese company Genepax has done more than that.
It has developed a vehicle that runs only on water.
This water-fueled car can run on any type of water,
including sea-water, or even bottled water.
But how does it work?
The vehicle is powered by the electrons that come from the hydrogen in the water.
Just a liter of water can keep the vehicle running for about an hour
at 50 miles per hour.
Now, take a look at the car of the future.
With oil prices soaring,
and fuel protests spreading across the globe,
it almost sounds too good to be true.
A car that runs on nothing but water.
And all kinds of water will do.
River, rain or sea, they all make this car mobile.
Even tea works.
Japanese company Genepax unveiled the eco-friendly vehicle in Osaka.
Once water is poured into the car's tank,
an energy generator takes hydrogen from the water
realeasing electrons that power the car.
The main characterisitc of this car is that no external input is needed.
The car will continue to run
for as long as you have a bottle of water in sight for you to add
from time to time.
According to Genepax,
a liter of water will keep the car running
at a speed of 80 kilometers for around an hour.
The company hopes to go into mass production with a Japanese manufacterer.
With car users around the world
looking for alternative fuels to power their vehicles,
Genepax may well have the solution they've been looking for.
