Culver House is a central accommodation in Bristol, and it's on Park St.
Um between the top and the bottom, so at the top you have the Wells Memorial Building.
And towards the bottom you have the city centre, which is where Cabot Circus is
and the University precinct is about five minutes up the hill, up Park St, away from Culver House.
Close to lots of local amenities, and there are lots of shops on Park St that you can go to.
Well it takes me less than five minutes to get to University.
Because my main study space is in the Wills Memorial Building as a law student.
But the main precinct up by Tyndall Avenue takes less than ten minutes to walk to from Culver House.
We share a flat with four other people, so there is myself and four others.
We share one communal area together which is a good size.
We also share two bathrooms between us which is good.
I like the way it's individualised into different flats.
So you get a good sense of making friends,
So in your flat you're all thrown together with four other people
And you are quite close all the time, so you make you know a lot of friendships.
We have get togethers in our flat, so we invite other people from other flats round.
We use this communal area a lot, we spend a lot of time for example watching films, or just talking.
We listen to music, we like to cook together in the kitchen, there is a nice big space to cook.
I suppose compared to a few other university accommodations, they have cleaners,
who will come and clean their communal areas every week, but we don’t have that.
But in a sense it's also nice because it gives you independence to do that yourself.
I suppose it's like growing up, you kind of have to do your own cleaning, no one's doing it for you.
Oh yeah, I find the studying not too much of a problem,
because you can shut yourself away in your room.
Another positive aspect is we live so close to so many libraries.
So the Arts and Social Sciences Library is less than ten minutes away
The Wells Memorial Library is less than five minutes away.
So if you do have trouble studying in the rooms because it is too noisy.
You can quite easily take your stuff and go and sit there.
In Culver House I think there's about a hundred people or so
which is set over four floors.
And Culver House itself is divided into two halves.
Where on one side you have three flats per floor and on the other side you have two flats per floor
I also like the communal areas in Culver House, we have a laundry room,
which has two washers and two driers in.
Next door to this is also a room for our bicycles to be kept.
As well as a bicycle rack which has been recently been put in.
We also have the indoor garden which is strange but quite nice to have.
You didn’t' have a common room in Culver House ...we've got an indoor garden.
But this is what we need, this is great.
It's good to bring Culver and Unite together, it makes us become friends.
Yeah...It’s like two halls in one.
I definitely would recommend Culver House after living here for a whole year.
At first I was a bit skeptical about city centre living.
But after spending a whole year here, the location is what sold it for me.
It's so close to all the local amenities, to where I study and to the city centre,
that I couldn't imagine living in Stoke Bishop for example,
compared to living in the city centre.
