People of the Wairarapa have opened their arms
the Ministry of Social Development's Maori initiatives in the area.
This is what Minister of Social Development Paula Bennett
and Families Commissioner Carl Davidson hopes
following the release of a social services report today.
The Minister of Social Development Paula Bennett's
Maori services in Masterton
are highly supported by local Maori and others of the community.
According to Family Commissioner Carl Davidson,
the report shows great support from the community for local child
and family support services, but there is a lot of work ahead.
The Families Commission interviewed
over 400 families in the Wairarapa for this report.
Some of the concerns raised at the launch
was that the commission failed to interview many more families.
We are able to respond to some of the issues raised in the report
and the concerns raised by the local families.
The commission hopes this report will be an example to other regions.
