We're going to look at the major chords first. the chords for A, B, C, D, E, F and G. Now,
the first chord that we're going to take a look at is the A major chord. Now, the way
we're going to play this chord on the guitar or on the ukulele rather, I'm sorry, is we
need a C sharp, an A and an E in order to make an A major chord, A, C sharp and E. Now,
we know the names of these strings so what we can do is we know that this is a C string.
We need a C sharp so go up a half step and that will get you to the C sharp. We have
an open E string here. We need an E. That's the fifth in an A major chord. We have a G
here. That's not going to do us any good but if we go up to G sharp and then up to A, there's
are A root note. Now, this string up here is also an A note. It's an open A string.
So, we have an A on either side and a C sharp and an E. So, playing them all together will
yield you the A major chord.
