Today I'm looking to go to one of the special Place in Paris.
Now you will think what is that Place.
Of course, there are lot of beautiful and important places you have to see in Paris.
We will see.
Now you know where I am.
One of the famous place in the world, Symbol of Paris, France.
The Eiffel Tower.
In French "La Tour Eiffel"
Actually now I'm in the place called Trocadéro.
This the place that you can take nice pictures with Eiffel Tower.
Because from here it's small and pretty.
"La dame de fer"
It's a nick name for Eiffel tower.
In English "The Iron Lady"
Do you know why?
Because it's fully metaled.
Nice ha...?
This Iron Lady built on 1889.
123 years ago, 31st of March 1889, it was Open.
They start to called Effel Tower for this Iron Lady
because the named after the engineer "Gustave Eiffel",
whose company designed and built the tower.
After that It became as a Global cultural Icon of France.
10th of September 1889,
Sir Thomas Alva Edison came to visit the tower.
And he kept a note on the guest book that saying.... To Mr. Eiffel...
Let's talk about Gustave Eiffel who made this,
There is a statue of him, let's go there.
Alexandre Gustave Eiffel,
Yes, He was one of the greatest French civil engineer and architect in wold history.

He was born on 15 December 1832 in Dijon,
in the Côte-d'Or department of France
He made lot of amazing buildings,
Structures and bridges in past history around the world.
If we get some few examples...
His First major work was Railway Bridge over the river Garonne in Bordeaux on 1861
Then Railway station at Toulouse, France in 1862,
San Sebastian Church in Manila, Philippines on 1875,
Statue of Liberty in New York, United States on 1886.
After his big working carrier he died on 27 of December 1923,
the age of 91 in here in Paris.
4th of February 1912, one sad thing happened.
Austrian tailor Franz Reichelt died
after jumping 60 metres from the first deck of Eiffel tower.

1930s The tower lost the title of the world's tallest structure...
...when the Chrysler Building was completed in New York City.
Until that Eiffel Tower was the tallest Tower in the world.
New Year's Eve 1999 for the Millennium Celebration,
they installed four high-power searchlights...
... and 20 000 Flash bulbs to the tower.
