My inspiration has been the RLSB. I have to say that because I had a horrible experience
of being dismissed from my employment and life did look really awful. I got into debt
and everything for not getting a proper salary and all that. And a year and a half I’ve
been a client with them. And I’m now actually employed with them. And it’s my second week
with them so hopefully this will be an inspiration to others. It’s my first trip today and
so far it’s been such a pleasure because I’m meeting people who have got sight problems
and who are hoping to get help. And because I’ve lived the experience and I’ve actually
achieved it by getting a job so I know that I can encourage them. So I really feel that
I’m doing something worthwhile. Well I hope that whatever good they’ve done for the
Olympics, the money will continue to come in to enhance the community. They’re doing
the area up very very well. They’re using a lot of money and resources to get prepared
for the people so it’ll be better for the community all round. I’m not planning to
go. But if I could go I’d probably go and see... I think I’d like to watch the running.
The 100 metres. And the 400 metres. And the 200 metres. Well unfortunately I don’t really
do any sports at the moment because of the condition I have. Which affects my joints.
And then also I’m partially sighted. But I did recently get involved in playing bowls
for people with sight-impairment and that was really pleasurable.
