I am Alfonso Cuaron.
This caravan is important because
it puts a face to people's pain.
It's important that media stops reporting on this tragedy
as a conflict between criminals and the army.
The true victims are innocent people,
mothers, fathers, and sons
who have nothing to do with this war.
but who end up as just another statistic.
It's important being in the US
to challenge the policies on arms trade and the lack of regulation
in the trafficking of weapons in the Mexico-USA border.
and to question Mexican and U.S. policies of
a war that Javier Sicilia accurately calls
a stupid war on drugs.
My name is Guillermo del Toro.
For me, it's very important to be
here where very important questions are being raised
I'm not here to say that this is the only solution,
but to say that what is being done is not working.
They keep calling it a flu, but it's really a cancer
that destroys the tissues, the fibers of society.
It is not a case of good against bad,
whites against blacks,
cowboys against bandits.
There is not a clearcut way of distinguishing
who the bad guys are.
We're all affected by this.
No one can really think that
they won't be affected by this war.
The only way to stop this
is by laying all options on the table to discuss them,
as Javier said.
It's very important to be there when the questions are asked.
The example is clear, it is a flu treated with cyanide.
and hence has developed into a cancer.
Exactly.
