Clean Tech Open is a not-for-profit that finds and funds small companies with ig ideas for
saving energy .. and the environment.
This is not a sprint, this is a marathon and it takes time and courage and we’re very
proud of all of these entrepreneurs for coming up with these phenomenal technologies that
could change your world and mine.
Clean Tech Open conducts business competitions throughout the year... and then hosts a Global
Forum that brings the top entrepreneurs together.
Egological, we make the world’s most compact personal e-vehicle. It’s designed to go
20 miles on a single charge and can fold up small enough to fit between your legs on a
train or a bus when you’re commuting.
We're developing a process which uses fossil fuels in a way to generate electricity but
also to take CO2 out of the air at the same time.
We're trying to make industrial sugars to replace corn and cane and the oncoming cellulosic
sugars using marine cyanobacteria that are from the ocean.
Here, the green tech companies compete for thousands of dollars in prize money.
Exposure, meeting people, getting contacts, it's been great.
The 2013 Top CleanTech Entrepreneur of the Year was Pow Wow Energy.
It developed technology to help farmers and ranchers detect water leaks in irrigation
systems.
With the price of water going up, with the understanding that water is a very big issue,
we're starting to see investors being interested.
Wells Fargo supports the event and provides grant money.
Wells Fargo has been a proud sponsor of the CleanTech open since 2010 which is just another
example of our commitment to clean technologies and helping that innovation come to life.
If it weren’t for Wells Fargo I wouldn’t be here. Wells Fargo was one of our biggest
early contributors to the start-up of Prospects Silicon Valley and with their seed funding,
we are getting our start so that we can launch all of these new programs.
so they’re a pioneer for us in actually launching what we’re doing.
We’ve really been a strong advocate for this for many reasons because it’s also
things that we believe in our vision and values such as supporting entrepreneurs, supporting
small business and most of all supporting innovation around critical issues that are
going to help solve some of the world’s greatest problems.
