Hey there Doc! Today is the 9th and final step of this series of the 9 things you need
to do in order get ready for 2014, to get your practice ready. It makes me kinda sad.
I've been enjoying making these videos for you and sharing them with you. The good news
is I have a few video series planned over the course of the next few months and going
into 2014. So we will still be able to have a lot of fun together. Let's talk about this
here.
Today is Monday, Thursday is Thanksgiving. Today's blog post ties right into that; because
the 9th thing you have to do in order to get ready for 2014. If you take all the things
we have talked about so far- setting your goals, talking about your marketing plan,
the process, procedures and simplifying all that stuff, this is one of the most important
ones and it is simply to be thankful and be grateful. We started off this series by talking
about setting goals, and for me that means this is going to happen on Thursday, Thursday
morning I will sit down with pad and pen and think about what I am creating next year,
and over the weekend I will refine that so that it will be ready next Monday I will have
it up on my board and ready to go.
I always have to get myself in the place of being thankful, grateful before that happens.
You know we are in this profession, this great profession as it is. We get to make a living
by helping people, by changing people's lives and so a lot to be thankful for. Hopefully
you and your family had great health this year, hopefully things have gone well for
your family this year. So let's focus on the things that we can be thankful and grateful
for, because the work I do attracts more into our life, the things that we focus on will
get more into our life. If things have gone bad for you this year, I absolutely have my
share of bad years over the years and we want that to suck you down but it is time to change
that, to forget about it. Again, we are talking about purging and simplifying. That's some
stuff we have to let go too. You got some bad stuff up there, the more we focus on it
the more bad it is going to be. That's not to say you can't take care of it. You have
to take care of it, if it is something to be dealt with. The more we focus on it, the
more we are going to get from it. So let's let some of that stuff go and really focus
on the good things in life. Even if it has been an absolutely terrible year. Let us just
focus on the good things, be thankful, grateful this week especially. When you are going into
setting up goals here on Thursday or on the weekend. Just be thankful. Come from a place
of gratitude and I guarantee you will expect more from the following year.
If you come in this weekend and set goals, if you are beaten down by life you are not
going to get much out of those things. So let's be thankful and grateful this week.
You have probably seen the Facebook post where everybody has posted one thing to be thankful
for everyday. You have probably seen other bloggers out there writing things they are
thankful for and lists of stuff we can be thankful for. Go read some of that stuff this
week or a really good book this week. Spend some time with family and really just be thankful,
grateful going into this season and preparing yourself for 2014. And hopefully next year
we will sit down and do this series again and by thanksgiving we will have tons to be
thankful for because of what we focus on right now. The gratitude you will have when right
now setting goals will lead to abundance next year.
Happy Thanksgiving, will talk to you soon.
