Okay. This is what I do.
This is my ring light.
I have this light; it's not the greatest but when it comes to traveling, yes it is. This is where it shines.
I pack that one face down. And these bars are here, so I feel like that's the protection. I don't need to put any cloth. But you can if you want.
Then I just start packing things around it.
Got a bunch of clothing right here.
Fully in that. Then I got my bras! Let's just put that on the side here.
You know what, I'm going to move that here.
And this here.
And then my makeup.
Maybe you guys don't want to check in your make up. Maybe you want that on your carry on--just make sure you don't have liquids.
Or if you do I think it has to be under X amount of ounces.
But for me, I just don't want them to give me an excuse to confiscate stuff. I've had so many things confiscated in the past that I just don't even bother.
Like deodorant. Come on, really? I can't have that in my carry on? I've got to smell like a... rugrat?
You know what, if it's white, put it in a bag! I don't want to go look for a bag right now.
That's my Trader Joes shopping bag.
But you guys get the idea. I've got all my socks in here, and then I've got my ***.
My phones up in there.
Bam! Like that. You see that?
So not only do I tape them down, then I put them in a bag. Because just in case they break, which they have in the past.
So I put them in bags and then I put them in there.
If you fold things or roll things instead of throwing it in like that you're ahead of the game.
But this is my checked luggage, okay?
So be mindful of what you put in here because if this goes missing or lost, which it has in the past--well, not lost it's been delayed--then you can be screwed.
You'll be screwed.
Do not put your passport in here. Do not put important items like laptops and cameras. Do not put it in here.
Put that in your carry on, which is this.
Oh and you guys, get 360 wheels.
This bad boy is a Samsonite; 360 wheels! The greatest invention ever.
If you can get yourself 360, do it.
You will thank me. And make sure it rolls really smoothly.
I have two other 360 wheels, one by Tommy Hilfiger and one by another no-name thing, and they both suck.
I'm going to get the matching set if it's still there. I got this from TJ Maxx.
Okay, then we have your carry on.
Now another tip when traveling is putting a piece of identifiable object on your luggage to differenciate yours between somebody else's,
in case they have the matching one. This is 360, the wheels are not as flexible and fast as the other one.
So I'm going to upgrade this one too. But anyway, this is my carry on.
And in my carry on, I put in my electronics, my expensive stuff.
So now for your carry on. You can have 2 pieces of carry on luggage. And this is the one that I put over the top of me.
It's not packed properly yet; I would have to have these in things.
But anyways, just showing you what I have in here.
I have my external harddrives. I've brought almost all of them.
Only because I'm here for a month. And in case I have to edit something, the last thing I want is for my footage to be stuck in New York and I can't get to it.
These are the cables for my lights.
This is... you guys have seen this in one of my tech haul videos.
What else? My sound recorder. My H4N Zoom Mic--this is what I use to do my voice overs, with the exception of this one right now, because I am... it's in here.
And I'm speaking into the camera.
The headphones. Do not put this in that carry on. Put this in your other carry on.
So I'm like, super tacky. I don't care.
But this is my other carry on. So of the two, I put my laptop and my headphones in here, along with my passport.
Because this is easy for me to get to.
If it's overhead, you can't get to it easily--like if it's in that thing, you're going to have a problem when you want to listen to the movies or... whatever, the music.
So of the two carry ons, put the stuff that you don't need really in there, but like, the expensive stuff. So the things you can't live without.
I will never check my harddrives because they're so valuable to me.
Too valuable. Like the monetary value of this if it were to go missing I think--in your checked suitcase it's only $300; I guess you can buy insurance...
... once you start traveling with a lot.
This is a super cheap light. It's like $20-$30.
I had this in my last tech haul. This is great for me to travel with.
I used this the last time I was here in L.A. when I was shooting at night on location.
This is awesome. I guess I could check that.
But I feel like all the electronics are in here.
Batteries. Charger. You know.
Zit packs.
You can either put that in a proper bag, or a little bear. Just shove it in there so it doesn't move around.
You want to stuff it. So you'd need like, three bears.
The carry on stuff, the one that you keep in the seat in front of you, underneath;
Your headphones, your laptop, your passport, your wallet, and most importantly, a pen.
You do not want to be that person on the plane asking to borrow somebody else's pen.
Okay, I think that's it. No liquids! No liquids on your carry on.
If you have any questions, you guys should read your flight carrier's information; what you can and can't check.
I called the airline to see if I could travel with this.
Can you believe I traveled with a sword? They must've been like, 'you crazy trick!'
But yeah, I checked this. This couldn't be in a carry on, nor would it fit.
I am the tackiest traveler. One of these days I'll get it together.
But for now, this is the real world.
I'm not that person.
I would love to know where's the last place you guys traveled.
