In the next few movies, just for the fun of it, I want to share with you a few
more thoughts, a few more strategies that will help you get even more out of this training.
Now, a while back I was at a conference where Brendan Dawes was speaking.
The amazing interactive designer, Brendan Dawes, and he said they who dream by
day are cognizant of many things, which escape those who only dream by night.
He recited that quote by Edgar Allen Poe. I thought, wow, that's a really interesting
quote. It kind of validates this idea that we need to daydream, we need to
dream big during the day. So I wrote the quote down, then I created
this little collage in Photoshop, and then I shared that quote with a few of my
friends. I said it out loud. By verbalizing something I learned, what I was
doing was learning it more thoroughly and I was integrated it into who
I'm and how I think. So as you learn things throughout this training,
here's my tip for you, verbalize what you are learning, share it
with others, it will help you learn it more thoroughly.
Now, another thing that's really important is to keep this whole learning
process human. Keep in mind that when someone looks at your photographs or my
photographs, then don't say wow, you applied a really amazing and technical and
curves adjustment. No. They say look at those blues eyes; those blue eyes are
so beautiful. Also, keep in mind that the reason we take
pictures and the reason that we are working in photography is to have a little
bit of fun. This whole thing is all about having some fun, and I hope that you
pick that up throughout this training.
