the book that we are going to be talking about today is
"Then Fire From Within"
by Carlos Castaneda
and one particular page
out of here is what I'm going to speak about
its on the page 152 of this edition
this particular passage
I'm picking because it is talking about pretty much the goal
of "The New Seers"
and these
gentleman that call themselves warriors having to do with basically
learning
to understand their minds
and how to manipulate their consciousness
and it says:
be that
as it may warriors are in the world to train themselves to be
unbiased witnesses,
so
as to understand the mystery of ourselves and relish the exultation of
finding
what we really are.
This
is the highest of the new seers' goals.
so
it explains on next page
In order
to be unbiased witnesses,
we begin by understanding that
the fixation or the movement
of the assemblage point
is all there is to us
in the world we witness,
whatever
that world might be.
It takes awhile to understand
those words however
uh...
when he says:
in order to be an unbiased witnesses we begin by
understanding that the
fixation
that's one of the aspects
and that's what uses improvisation
the behavior that
they spend time learning
and is to fix the assemblage point
what we do all the time with our self-talk is fixing our assemblage point
however he says also: we begin by understanding that the fixation or
the movement
of the assemblage point
so there's movement also
and then once it moves
which is
a tremendous feat for us to
personally, on our own, move our assemblage point
and then fix it again
on a different spot
spot of
energy,
alignment
He says:
we begin by understanding that the fixation
or the movement of the assemblage point
is all there is to us
and
the world we witness,
whatever that world might be.
I don't know if that
seem simple
to you or
complex
however one of the strange aspects of this is
as much as it seems like this is true...
our perception
of the world of what we see
is more than even just the perception,... we actually are creating what
we see and what's interesting is while we're used to our body
and are mind, first of all being
in our body
and then us that we would call ourselves, stopping
at the skin
of our body
in actuallity we are everything that we see.
It's a hard point to grasp but
assuming that you
change your beliefs and think that way then
the assemblage point is constantly fixed, we are always saying do you see what i see
in many, many different terms.
however once you
shift the assemblage point which
all of us have had some of that,
an inkling of what that's like,
if
we
remember our dreams or we even are
more fortunate and become
aware of
our dreams while we are dreaming
we have shifted our assemblage point and we have assembled a different
world
then the key is to learn how to fix it
which if you've ever become aware of during your dreaming
you realize as you become aware of that and tried to sort of
be in that moment and fixate it
it is so jarring that generally it's over pretty quickly
and then we come back and wake up because it is a difficult task to
fixate yourself in the dreaming world and be conscious, as conscious as we
are right now in this world...
we can do it
and once you do then you understand that's one shift, there are
actually
an infinite number of minor shifts, gradations....
however if you shift far enough
along one side you actually
become
immersed and aware of alternate probabilities
there are
worlds that we actually exist in.
And it goes on and on and on...
over time you begin to be
more familiar with
the understanding which
again going back to beginning of what
this is about,
this
the whole point.
IS to train
ourselves to be
unbiased witnesses
so
so as to understand the MYSTERY
of ourselves
and relish the exultation
of finding what we really are.
well i hope that
at least begins to give you an idea
of thinking in a different way
It can take awhile to
wrap your mind around it, other times it can explain things that
have been happening to you
and...or will...
and we will
speak again
I will come on and talk again...Alright, thank you.
