Have you ever heard the expression Sabbath? The Bible refers to the seventh
day specially dedicated to God, for the Islam that special day is Friday, so
for Judaism Saturday, for most of the Christians is the Sunday. so now which is it?
what is the true Sabbath? and now is most important to know, if God wants still
today to share one day a week in a special way? the answer stays
in the beginning and has to do with your way to count the time.
A year is the time it takes the earth to orbit the sun, one month is the time
takes the moon to circle the earth and one day is the time it takes the earth
to turn over his own axis, and...one week?
One week is all it took God to create this world. The week is the only time formula
which has no astronomical explanation, but the major civilizations
They have had count their lives in cycles of seven days. curious right? wait ... because you will discover
in two minutes something that will make you finally truly make you take a rest.
Are you ready? Genesis says that God created the world in six
days and rested on the seventh. The root of the Hebrew is: Sabbath, sounds you
familiar? is the Saturday, and always has been. When Jesus had finished his mission, said it has been consummated
and died .. what day it was? a Friday. and theSaturday? He rested.
Jesus kept the Sabbath even in his grave. Luke 23 says: his followers rested
the Sabbath according to the commandment, and the first day of the week they found
the tomb empty. That first day was Sunday, it always has been. the resurrection in
Sunday was a Six of one, half dozen of the other, the Bible never suggests that we should celebrate the Sunday and for centuries no one
made it. The Saturday is not the day of the Jews, came before the jewish people. It is the only
institution that the Lord blessed and sanctified. In Mark 2. Jesus declares him self the Lord of
Sabbath. It's His day. He decides when, how and why, and says it was made for you
and for me. God gives you TIME. Appears before the Ten Commandments in Exodus 20
its observance is a weekly memorial of the creation, and that's why can not be
changed. The invitation to enjoy the Sabbath is universal and is found in Isaiah 56, and
is described in other verses as an eternal covenant with the creator. Nobody changed it in the old
Testament, nobody changed in the New Testament. Jesus and the disciples kept the Sabbath.
then, why is not respected? It's a long story. It took centuries till
a political-religious power decided it, that was more comfortable to keep the Sunday.
The pagans used it, and was because it was a day dedicated to the sun, but it was a big mistake.
Some say that "we should not keep the Ten Commandments to be saved and it is true, never
has been necessary. The commandments are the proposal of life that God makes you not to be saved,
but because you are, and that's why the commandments remain valid." however those who say this it is
good not kill, not commit adultery, not to lie, steal and the other commandments, all except
the Saturday. Curious too. Some say, not to save just one day for God, and they save everyday for God.
God. Neither asks you, neither is true. You can not celebrate your birthday every day,
do not kid yourself. Saturday will always be a sign of the eternal covenant between the creator and
the creation. A shrine in inalterable time, one day to find the rest that always
You have searched, unknowingly That's the truth of the Sabbath. An everlasting covenant saved for thousands
of years, sometimes misunderstood, but in any case a holy day.
Don't you find rare that there is no verse in the Bible that mention its change or cancellation?
Biblically there is no grounds for a modification, you can choose if you accept an authority outside the Bible
that changed the law of God, or reject the proposal of life that God makes you into it,
both options are a big contradiction, while you think about. God is waiting to celebrate
with you every Saturday. You decide and as always remember, the majority can be wrong.
