They said there would be a very intimate and nice atmosphere here,
and it was much more so than I thought.
Musikhögskolan's soul is not one but a number of different ones.
-- Biba - babopa .... do you hear the difference?
-- Absolutely .
When studying at the Teacher Education Programme here at KMH, it's very good that the teachers also are musicians,
so that even when we study music education, they teach from a musician's perspective.
They have an extremely broad and extensive experience
that you feel that you really embrace and can be inspired by.
You just say: Wow, awesome, that is something I would also do.
I will try this with my own pupil, what she does to me now.
It's a very big creative forum.
You have every opportunity to find those people that you want to play with.
A lot of little geeky groups are created, groups who just do their thing insanely.
We're doing a sailor's song, which has a very narrative text,
and we try to get the feel of the song.
We have voices that collide a lot and this also creates tension.
Right now we are mainly discussing if we should change the song
so that the young maiden might be the heroine who saves the sailor.
What I believe is most fun is when we have our big concerts.
You learn everything: from how to attract audiences,
how to plan your concerts with repertoire,
light, sound and just about everything.
When you come to KMH, your work enters a completely different level:
technically and musically, your repertoire, what kind of pieces you're working on.
Whatever you play will be an opportunity to invite people and make them listen to what I do,
and to discover me. And this is true, at least with the concerts here.
