Well, I mean, just a basic thing, is I think reading is hugely important. Whether it's
new books that are out or, there's different trade publications or other things that I
stay in touch with, is the National Association of Church Business Administrators, which sounds
long and boring but they tend to have articles in there about what's going on, some of the
problems, some of the good things that are going on in churches today. And there's plenty
of magazines out there and I think staying in touch with that kind of thing is good.
There's some specific tools, like online Bibles that you can do research in and have concordances
and different translations and those are really valuable. If you speak a lot you need to kind
of get background on what you want to say and references. You know, I also think technology
is a great tool. Because of what I do I'm rarely in my office so between my phone where
I get my emails, and calls, and schedule and all that kind of thing, I think, working with
our IT guy here at the church and kind of staying up to speed with technology is a huge
tool for me.
