This is the homescreen you will click login at the top right hand corner and it will take you to the login screen. Students can login with their
Facebook to login or use use their Google or Gmail account to sign up. If they don't have either tell them to click the blue box Sign Up
Once they sign up they are going to choose a unique screen name, a password and their e- mail address. For the purposes of this sign up
I will choose Liberty University; however there is a character limit, I will choose libertyuniversity without the Y.
And then they choose a unique password. Something they will not show or share with anyone, including the teacher.
The next one, they will need an email address.
I want to use the liberty e-mail just for purposes of this sign-up.
make sure they retype the email address correctly, and then after they are done, they must click the "I accept" button.
After clicking "I accept" the screen says sign up.
the sign up process is not over however we can continue with our strip
I would tell the students to click on "Create A Comic" box, this is the shortcut.
Once you click on "Create A Comic", the quickest way to get started would be to create a "quickie".
Once you create a "quickie" 3 boxes. You can choose any premade template you would like.
These are the various templates built into the template for the student depending on what the scene needs to look like.
It could be for History, it could be an outside or be a social club or social scene
This is a quick and fun way for students to show you their understanding of what has been taught.
For the purposes of this video, I will choose the hallway scene by the lockers. The next screen will have prebuilt in characters
The student will choose two characters on separate screens.
Once you've chosen two characters, your screen will say please wait as it loads your characters into your template.
Then all you need to do is figure out what would you like your comic title to be.
Usually it is the homework assignment name.
And for the purposes of this video, I am choosing "Bullying in School".
Afterwards they will click inside of the Box or the template they would like to edit. And then they can go crazy with the comic!
You can go in or out to make the back drop smaller or bigger and then they can type in the bubble.
They can move the screen up and down. Move the person, make them taller.
You would then write in the bubble what you want your character to say.
For example, do you know where I can go if a person is bullying me?
Then of course you move to the second box
Then adjust the screen however you need it to be adjusted. For the purposes of this video,
I am going to make the teacher bigger than the student
Now I will place the student anywhere I want in the scene.
You can also turn the teacher, as you can see I rock the box around the teacher a little.
But the most important thing is to type in your response.
Remember in these boxes, you can hide anything and also if you would like to move their arms. Just double click what
you would like to move and any part of their body can be rotated, changed, moved up or down or even moved side to side.
Wherever they want to move their character
The character can move.
Then comes the final box, the final box, of course you edit again and say whatever you want.
Or you can make it funny, this is up to the kids. This is for them to show how different they are
and how they actually see what is going and see what you have taught instead of writing it down in an eassy, they put it in a comic strip.
Remember they can edit anyway they would like.
Once they are done they can click "Save for Later" or "Save and Continue". If they click "Save and Continue"
It will take the student to this screen because they have not verified their account.
So they will need to type in their birthday.
And I am going to type in the year I was born and I am old enough to use the website. If they are 14 or
younger they must have parental permission to use this website
I am in North Carolina and then I am going to click "save changes"
once I saved my changes
it will give me a list of everything that I've done. I click save again and then it says they have sent me an e-mail
so that may I confirm my e-mail address.
Once you go to your e-mail to sign up you make sure the information is correct and then you would click on the link to verify your pixton
It will tell you to click "Continue"
Once you have verified and clicked continue, you would click on
"my/me" and then click on "My Comics"
Once that has been clicked the student will be able to "Publish Now" and publish their comic!
It will give you the title again and you click publish now.
And now the comic is about to be published.
There's a screen that gives you the link, just in case you need to copy it and you may also send your link to someone so they can click
on it. I would send it to a professor or my teacher or even my Edmodo if you are giving the homework online to the students.
But for the purposes of this video, I am going to send it to my Liberty e-mail address.
and then the title of what I am sending, it is the name of my assignment
and then submit the comic.
The screen froze up and I had to wait for the computer to catch up.
now that it is done you close it out and this is your screen
It says "Bullying in School", students can post comments to other students, copy the link,
and paste the comic anywhere on their Facebook.
It is wherever you want the student to send the comic, they must copy and paste the link, because it is their personal link to send to
everyone. Thank you.
