Hey welcome to the Eicoff video blog, also know as a vlog. Today we'll be discussing
five ways to make your online video content and your search engine optimization work together.
As we all know, online video content continues to expand its roll, especially in search.
All you have to do is go to Google, type in any question and see where video comes up
in your search query. Plus Youtube alone has officially broken the one billion, that's
one billion unique user mark. As the second largest search engine out there, Youtube is
way more than a place to post that funny cat video, or latest rendition of the harlem shake.
It's a place to find answers. And of course people prefer to watch instead of read. All
of these factors build a great case for advertisers to create their own SEO friendly video content.
So here are five tips for creating video content to better serve your SEO. Number one. Identify
the top related search queries. Say you're marketing a new way to fight bad breath. You
should analyze the top search terms for that category. Are people asking, how do I cure
bad breath? What are the causes of bad breath? Or are they getting more specific and asking
about stinky cigarette breath. Understanding the search queries will inform you on everything
from the video's main idea, to how you tag it. Number two. Deliver answers. If the top
search query is how do I get rid of bad breath. Your video should embrace that information
and do everything it can to answer it. Don't go make a funny video that's just about the
history of halitosis. Instead as we learned through DRTV it's important to understand
the consumer's need. This principle applies here too. People are leaning in and they're
looking for answers online. So don't be afraid to give them one. Number three, optimize your
wording. Just like basic SEO practices, the more tactical you are with your keywords,
the better. If you are creating a video that tackles bad breath in cigarette smokers, you'll
want to use those words as many times, with out being too repetitive. Number four multiply
your reach. If you create one long ten minute video, you should look to chapter it into
mini videos. These videos will link to each other. They will help answer the more specific
queries, like the cigarette example. And collectively they will give you a better chance of being
found. Number five. Tell them what to do. As a direct response television agency. A
strong call to action is a no brainer for us. Your target found you, they clicked play,
they watched your video, so be sure to give them a clear directive on what you'd like
them to do next. When it comes to online videos there are all shapes and sizes. Viral videos,
videos that just make your website look better, and as discussed here, videos that make a
really big difference for your search engine optimization. At Eicoff we love creating content
that delivers results. So it's no surprise we enjoyed digging in and really getting to
know this world. Hopefully these five tips helped.
