Good morning, ladies, I'm joined by Chef Chris Paul this morning who is educated in fusion style cuisine. Today we're
cooking up something out of the ordinary I'm talking about Japanese Yakisoba
noodles: southwestern-style. Good morning!
Yeah I love food and I love how you change it up. This is kind of wild eastern western
noodles? Yes.
That's exactly what it is: Japanese meets
Spanish Mexican and that's what it's all about. Arriba! My girls would definitely get a kick
out of this. It's a fun mix because you've got
beef taco stir fry, and that really is amazing. Talk to me about that.
Absolutely. So simple, so easy. These packets are great. great
What you do is just add your water, open it up and add your seasons inside. Four minutes.
And you have something like a pallet you can play with. Now it's Japanese
right? Right. But you have the twist: you have a little bit of Mexican, you have a little bit of Greek,
you got a little bit for the Cuban girl, you got a little bit of black beans here,
I really love it because let's be honest America really is a
huge melting pot, isn't it? So fusion is all around and that's sort of your specialty.
Yes it is. Tell me about your speciality. Let's take Greek food
and let's take Italian food
and let's take German and fuze it together. Think about the dishes
that you have, an animal created. Oh it's fun.
So it's kind of like combining this from that, all the backgrounds come together
and you get a fusion.
A huge fusion. I love it. Now let's start with my favorite: jalepeno.
You have a little spicy, a little cheesy, ai si si oui oui! Tell me about that
one
Well, we've got a blend here of the jalepeno
and the cheddar, and it's all combined together, so you've got your spicy and your
creamy. But we don't stop there. We actually kick it even more.
We add fresh corn, we add jalepeno, we add black beans, bacon, bring bacon to
the party. Again, you're just bringing it to a different level.
I feel like wearing a Mexican
hat. Mariachi around the corner.
And I love that they put on the package
"Hot and Spicy". Preparing you.
Just like I like it. Alright, and the beef taco, that's a good one, my husband would love that.
Yes, and my girls. It's good for the whole family. And how would you combine that one? Very
simple very easy. Again you have your tortilla chips, you cook off your wonderful
noodles, you add all your spicings, four minutes to do it
put on some taco shells. Gotta have refried beans, right? It's mexican! Tomatoes,
fresh lettuce and just put a bit of sour cream and look, you got a fiesta!
It's ready to go.
We got a fiesta! You know what I love about it, it's really something to talk about
because everybody would look at this and say "wow"
"what have you got here?" and it's really a conversation piece. Yes.
In terms of just involving so many backgrounds together. That's the view
Japanese and
you know, Mexican. Hello! That's what
it's about. Yum yum yum. I love it. You've taught me
something, you've included
even my ethnic background, I really do appreciate it. I want you to give me an "Arriba!"
before we leave. I'm not too good at that. Come on. Arriba! Well that was really good.
Thank you, chef
