EUCHARISTIC MIRACLE OF SANTARÉM
"The year was 1247, according to the chroniclers, or of 1266, according to others.
In Gauteng, the city today and then village of Portugal,
lived a poor woman, whom her husband very offended, walking astray with another woman.
Tired of suffering, was asking a Jewish witch that
with their spells, this end to their sad fate.
He promised this effective remedy for what he needed a consecrated Host.
After natural hesitations, the poor woman consented to the sacrilege;
was the Church of St. Stephen, pleaded and asked Communion.
Received the Sacred Particle, with short caution, took her mouth, wrapping her in veil.
He left the Church hurry, and walked to the house of the witch.
But then, without noticing it, the veil
Blood began to drip, which, seen by several people,
led them to ask the unfortunate injury that had that much blood flowed.
Confusing in the extreme, runs just to the house and closes the Host Miraculously one of his cabinets.
He spent the day, however, and in the afternoon, the husband returned.
The high night, the two agree, and see the whole house blazing.

Acquainted man's sinful act of the woman,
knees, spent the rest of the night in worship.
Evil broke the day, the pastor was informed of supernatural wonder.
Spread success, half the city of Santarém rushed hurried to contemplate the miracle.
Sacred Particle was then taken in procession, to the Church of St. Stephen,
which was conserved within a species custody made of wax.
But last time, to open up to expose the Blessed Sacrament for adoration by the faithful the Holy Miracle
as usual, met the wax made in pieces
and, in amazement, found himself to be contained in a Sacred Particle glass ampule,
miraculously appeared.
This small ampule was placed in custody of silver gilt which still stands today.
St. Stephen's is now the Church of the Holy Miracle. "
Annually, in Santarém, solemnly celebrated in this Church, the Feast of the Holy Miracle,
awakening Eucharistic devotion all over the nation.
