I think the academic standards are really important. But I think in the long term I
think kids need more instruction in problem solving and handling emotional influences
and being in relationships. And I think the schools are prime places to learn those skills.…
It comes down to [INDISTINCT] that and we shouldn’t do it. So, it’s bringing people
to Vermont, to Massachusetts, two places that deal--I think we have to do it with the kids
in Alabama and Georgia. And so, I think it involves in that--all the raising the bar
for everybody. I think we need to do it.
In your lives, you’ll confront a thousand different choices. You may not make the right
one every time but in the end you draw in the lessons you learned here and the positive
experiences you enjoyed right here at St. Michael’s. You will make the right choices
for yourself and for your country. Now, please enjoy the rest of today and the rest of your
