I heard about the apprenticeship by my head chef - he asked me if I wanted to do an apprenticeship
when I finished my level 1 college course.
I heard about the apprenticeship via the college prospectus
which was at the school I was in at the time.
My apprenticeship involves a whole range of skills - it covers electrical, mechanical
and computer software issues. It could be a number of different things depending on
where I am working - it could be planning cables,
I could be connecting up sockets, or lights, it just depends where I'm working really
Well my apprenticeship involves so many things -
It involves training in the salon, it also involves ensuring the salon runs smoothly.
My apprenticeship basically involves doing mostly training at work
You learn from your employers.
The benefits of an apprenticeship are that you get your-hands on experience
as well as the theory knowledge.
And you also get paid while you go to college.
Benefits of studying an apprenticeship would be
that you're earning as well as learning and building up your qualifications.
I think the benefits of studying an apprenticeship are
that you get to learn hands-on rather than just all theory work.
You learn everything at work, it looks better on your CV and gives you more experience.
When I finish my apprenticeship I plan to work my way up through the company and go as far as I can.
I plan to carry on gaining knowledge as a hairdresser, perhaps even further my knowledge
onto NVQ Level 3.
I'd recommend an apprenticeship to anyone looking to get hands on experience whilst they learn and earn at the same time
You learn more knowledge about what subject you're doing
than trying to learn in a classroom or
just going out to work.
It's the best thing you can do if you want to learn quickly
and if you want to learn the industry inside out.
