Hey Pitt Students. My name is
Pamela Arroyo and I am the program
director for campus programs
and recruitment events at UPMC.
We're really looking forward to
getting a chance to meet you
and talk with you at the career fair
on Wednesday, September 25
at the Peterson Events Center.
Bring lots of resumes, make sure
you dress professionally and we'll see you there.
You are never too young to get
an internship and it’s never too early
as a freshman to start
thinking ahead and start planning for when
you want to get an internship
for your professional development.
By going to that career fair and
getting a sense of how everything flowed,
how to meet employers, how to get information,
hand out resumes, find out about different
opportunities for a summer internship and for
careers it really has been a huge help.
Recently I went to the career fair
looking for a full time job and
I was very successful in having one on one
interactions with the employers and got a
lot of great feedback and have had about
three interviews since the career fair that are
directly due to interactions with employers there.
I would say honestly because I went to
the career fair is probably the reason I got the job.
I had never heard of
this company before I met them.
I had no idea what they did until
I visited their booth and the main lady I talked to,
actually she was recruiting at the career fair,
was the woman that was actually
going to be my boss come this fall.
