Photos race the words in describing the destruction and ruin that happened in the neighbourhood.
Wherever you turn your face, you see ruins.
It was one of the most crowded areas in Damascus
That's how Barza area in Damascus looks like.
Shelling and missiles are part of daily life now.
There
Yes, in that area. Not the army.
Here you find the remains of a lonely building.
In the midst of the sound of continuous shelling which hit humans and buildings in the neighbourhood.
The traces of destruction crowd together from one street to the other.
There is no house which has not been affected by the malicious bombs.
In this street, the stones which fell from the buildings share the side walk
which was abandoned by its children who left their homes due to shelling.
It's rare to find a family still living in the neighbourhood
where the sound of bullets is louder than any other sound.
Barza is destroyed.
This is the area of Dhaher Al Mistah, which is considered the most destroyed area.
This is a small sample of the destruction.
Three months of siege
Means that there is no electricity, no water, no communication means
A strict siege and tanks shelling.
Tanks are on the mountain.
There is no food. It's hardly enough.
Shelling using all kinds of artillery.
We ask Allah for protection.
We'll hold fast until the last man.
And inshallah they'll never dream of stepping here.
Barza neighbourhood
is one of the first areas in Damascus
to revolt against Assad's regime .
The number of protestors who took out daily was notable in Damascus.
The chants of protesters disappeared now.
and the only sound which prevails in the empty avenues and streets
is the sound of war announced by artillery,
missiles and non-resting clashes.
for more than three months.
The area which is located to the east of Damascus
experiences a strict siege imposed by Assad regime from all sides.
As the number of injured residents of Barza increases,
the humanitarian condition is very bad.
There is a shortage in the basic and important medical needs.
Electricity was cut months ago.
Zoom in. They are between the olive trees. Can you see them?
This is the place where
Assad's regime supported by the Lebanese Hezbollah militia tried, a few days ago,
to storm the neighbourhood alongside the so-called Abo Al Fadel Al Abbas brigade.
It's one of so many attempts
which end up with their withdrawal leaving a huge number of wounded and killed soldiers.
In the name of Allah the most Gracious the Most Merciful
These are the killed members of Hezbollah and Abo Al Fadel Al Abbas brigade
Thanks God.
They were killed as they were trying to storm the area from Dhaher Al Mistah .
The regime escalates violence day after day.
Within the past few days, the area witnessed
a shelling which is the most violent since the beginning of the military campaign.
It also used warplanes recently and for the first time
to target residential areas.
Even though Assad used Hezbollah militia to help him
and even though the neighbourhood is close to the centres of Shabiha from Ish Al Warwar and Tishrin,
they still cannot storm Barza.
The Syrian army loses tens of soldiers daily who are either wounded or killed.
and also loses a great number of military vehicles which are targeted by the FSA.

Oh God. Where is water?
Plumes of smoke fill the area
which became a real battle field.
One party tries to keep hold of a free territory,
and the other one tries to control a destroyed city.
Allahu Akbar!
Allah is greater than the tyrant.
Say Allahu Akbar.
Allah is greater than the tyrant.
