If you’re looking for originality, look elsewhere. Not only is this game a clone of
another game, but it’s also a zombie game. I mean, this thing is called Insane Zombie
Carnage.
And a game like that doesn’t do original.
But here’s the other side of the token—it doesn’t need to. Original or not, this Insane
Zombie Carnage is a really fun game. I mean, I didn’t want to stop playing. And that’s
usually something I want to do. I don’t like anything.
If you’re the kind of gamer who plays all the popular stuff you hear about in forums
or whatever, you’re probably thinking, “Hey, that looks like Super Crate Box. And I mean
the PC original, not that crappy iOS version that everyone liked.” And yeah, you’re
right...that’s why I said this is a clone of another game. And that’s the one.
If you haven’t played Super Crate Box, it’s kind of like the original Mario Bros. with
a modern twist. The enemies enter the screen from the mysterious above, and you run around
trying to avoid them, kill them and stay alive. Same applies to Insane Zombie Carnage, only
there are zombies. And flamethrowers.
I’m contractually obligated to point that out.
There are a few different levels, as well as gameplay options. The main mode has you
collecting as many boxes as you can before dying. The thing is, each box changes your
weapon, so at times, you end up downgrading your weapon. And often at inopportune moments,
which is one of the reasons the game is both fun and maddening.
Insane Zombie Carnage is a very enjoyable indie game on Xbox Live. It’s only 80 Microsoft
Points, which is like...I don’t know, what’s that? Like a dollar in real money? That’s
an easy recommendation for those who like addictive little games with a retro vibe.
And of course, zombies.
And carnage. It’s Insane Zombie Carnage for the Xbox 360.
