Did you know that Paul Taylor was studying at Syracuse on a swimming scholarship before he first tried his hand at dance?
He fell so in love with it that he transferred to Juilliard.
Your dreams to relive the good ol’ Footloose days have all come true…
Kevin Bacon reenacted the iconic dance routine in his latest appearance on The Tonight Show.
Though the choreo may be 30 years old, Bacon has definitely still got style!
A whole crew of backup dancers joined him on the Fallon stage to finish it off.
Last weekend, the Paul Taylor Dance Company celebrated the company’s 60th in a very special way at New York’s Lincoln Center.
46 of the company’s former members returned to restage Taylor’s “From Sea to Shining Sea”.
The dancers returning were performers with the company as early as 1957.
West Coast friends, don’t feel left out -- we’ve got a chance for you to win two free tickets to the company’s performance in LA on Friday, April 11th.
All Pluggers can enter the contest on danceplug.com.
My video pick this week is the latest music video by violinist Lindsey Stirling.
Lindsey loves to integrate her dance background when performing, and “Transcendence” is no exception.
Choreographed by Bonnie Story, the theme of the video is "inspiring change for good", and features a handful of dancers, including jazz teacher Chris Dupré.
I definitely have a soft spot for this video as it also features two of my close friends Haylee Roderick (from High School Musical 3)
and Chris Jarosz (from Season 4 of SYTYCD).
This weekend if you’re in the LA area, check out Life through Dance
a theatrical dance production that tells a story with all kinds of choreo styles, from ballroom to burlesque.
The show’s Saturday night at the El Rey Theater and tickets are available online.

As the search for Malaysia Airlines flight 370 continues, all airlines have been undergoing heightened scrutiny.
Pilots with SpiceJet airlines have gotten themselves into trouble for helping their attendants with a publicity stunt
a mid-flight Bollywood dance routine to celebrate Holi.
The pilot and first officer, who left the cockpit to film the dance on his cell phone, have been suspended by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation,
who claim that the added movement from the dancing could have caused turbulence and disrupted alertness.
My song pick of the week is "Honeymoon Avenue" by Ariana Grande.
Ariana is one of the new artists that has taken the industry by storm.
The song has an amazing backbeat and it's one of those songs that just makes me wanna dance!
Pair that with Ariana's incredible voice, and we have a winner!
I'd love to see a really intricate, in the pocket, hip hop piece to this piece of music because at the moment,
I'm just jamming to this in my car and I look pretty crazy!
Determined to grab the gold medal at the Sochi Olympics, ice dancing pair Meryl Davis and Charlie White brought in Derek Hough to work on their short program
- a "Foxtrot" - on ice of course, and I worked on their long program to "Scheherazade".
It was amazing to see some of my work being translated to ice.
Now back in the US with the gold, the duo has taken the dance floor without ice and will be actually competing AGAINST each other for the first time,
on Dancing With the Stars! Who have you been voting for? Let me know in the comments below!
