we test our program once again this time modifying our compiler settings, click on "Compiler and
debugger", we see that there are series of tabs that will allow us to change different
types of options, right now we're interested in tool chain executables, we see a series
of executables associated with different tools place-holders for Code::Blocks
the linker for dynamic libraries must be
changed to mingw32-gcc instead of mingw32-g++, mingw32-g++
is preprocessor
compiler and linker all at the same time but for C++ programs
GCC stands for GNU Compiler Collection GCC will preprocess, compile and link
the sources that we give it, Code::Blocks will only use the feature of linking in this
tool, there are other utilities that Code::Blocks uses, from the GNU project
for example the debugger
is gdb.exe the resource compiler is windres.exe and the make program
is mingw32-make.exe
let's agree with these options and now let's try to build the project that previously
didn't build, now let's click on build and
on the "Build and run" command or pressing F9 will invoke the builder and have all
automatically compiled, we see the terminal showing our program
"Hello world!" the process returns 0 as you can read
by the Code::Blocks message and execution time was 0.328 seconds
we have built our program through the Integrated Development Environment(IDE) Code::Blocks in the
next video we will see how to do it from the command line
