You loved them greatly, oh Lord,
so they expelled You from Your home town, they wanted to push You over the cliff,
they were mad because you helped them, they said You were out of Your mind.
My God, why do You still love me?
Don't You wonder over my disbelief and cowardice? don't You see my blindness and sin?
As You once cried over Jerusalem You're now crying over my soul.
They were always close to your heart, Lord.
Judas betrayed you, Peter denied you, surprised rich boy left you,
disciples ran away, even the Baptist doubt in you.
You just don't stop accepting us!
We torture You, spit in Your face inflict wounds, punching You,
nail Your limbs, raise from the earth, pierce Your heart!
Oh, when will you stop loving us?
Will You keep comforting us? You want to be our friend
yet You don't stop washing our feet. You're so sick of love, oh Lord.
