This is a song written 2012 about how there are not always two sides to scientific fact.
If you don't want to know the answer don't ask the question
If you can't handle the truth don't try and invent one
It's not just a matter of someone raising an objection
Not every fact can be disputed or can be rejected
Well it's a cold world and a hard world and we all could use a few kind words
From the fortunate and the truly blessed and those that can afford
To offer some charity some sympathy and a small bit of humanity
To help the few in need and stop the rampant greed of those that gorge at the trough
If you don't want to know the answer don't ask the question
If you can't handle the truth don't try and invent one
It's not just a matter of someone raising an objection
Not every fact can be disputed or can be rejected
There's a fat man with a bad tan smoking a great big cigar
And he's angry that he has to pay for those he considers too poor
They don't deserve his wealth they should just take the cards their dealt
To live out their lives on the job with tightened belts
If you don't want to know the answer don't ask the question
If you can't handle the truth don't try and invent one
It's not just a matter of someone raising an objection
Not every fact can be disputed or can be rejected
And the radio blares out scenarios that cause us to doubt our own worth
And the right thing screams the right wing is to give them all up after birth
We won't feed them but we need them and the girl can't decide for herself
So the government which won't pay her rent says now you're all on your own.
If you don't want to know the answer don't ask the question
If you can't handle the truth don't try and invent one
It's not just a matter of someone raising an objection
Not every fact can be disputed or can be rejected
