>> (Male Announcer) That's right, kids. It's time for
Healthy Hannah's Healthy Choice Heroes.
What healthy choices will they make this time?
I wonder what to fix
for breakfast. Good morning, Susan.
You havent eaten breakfast yet?
No, I just got up. I could sure go for some
peanut butter toast. Mmmm, that sounds good!
I suggest you make half of your grains whole
by using whole-grain bread.
This is not whole grain bread.
What do you mean by whole-grain bread? Where does it
come from? From a bakery,
where else? This place
smells delicious! Why don't you try some
whole-grain bread. Anything whole grain
has been produced by grinding whole grains,
rather than refining it into flour,
which only has part grain.
Whole grain is a natural source for proteins and carbohydrates
you wouldnt find in white bread.
It looks a little different than white bread,
but it tastes great. Sure it does! Anytime you're
choosing bread for a sandwich
or toast, check the food labels.
It needs to say whole wheat.
But what do you mean by making half of my grains whole?
Oh, thats easy! When youre choosing things with
grain like cereal or bread, half of those choices
per day need to be made from whole grains.
Oooh, so oatmeal, brown rice, and some
breakfast cereals are made from
the entire grain. But which ones?
The label needs to say, whole grains.
I should be getting back to breakfast.
Can you find whole-grain foods in your pantry?
Check the label, and remember to make half your grains
whole every day. >> (Male announcer)
