In this clip, I am going to be showing you how to take off your pedals. When you ship
your bike, you definitely want to make sure your pedals are off because otherwise there
won't be enough room in the box for the bike. You will need a tool for this and ideally
you will want to use a pedal wrench which you can find at your local bike store but
if you don't really take off your pedals that much, you don't necessarily need a tool like
this so you can just use a normal wrench and for most bikes, it is going to be a 15 millimeter
wrench. What you are going to want to do to take off your pedals is first note that there
are different threadings on the pedals. Now on the right side which is the one that has
the sprocket and the chain, it is going to be a normal thread. So you are going to want
to turn it left or counter clockwise. So when you are turning it counter clockwise like
that, you should notice some threads starting to appear. Once you get it loosened up, you
can even do it by hand. Now the other side is a little tricky because it has reverse
threading so if you see here on this pedal, you will be turning clockwise instead of counterclockwise
and again once you get it loose enough, you don't really need the tool anymore, you can
just do it by hand and that's how you take your pedals off.
