Today we're here at Rutgers University,
FEMA's private sector division and
FEMA Corps team members will be sharing
registration information with students and fans
and also preparedness tips.
We have information out here on mitigation,
we have information out here on FEMA,
we also have information here on our
May 1st registration deadline,
which is just in a couple days
and is critically important for those who may need assistance
and desire to seek assistance, who've not yet registered.
The deadline to register for FEMA assistance is May 1st.
To donate to those affected by Hurricane Sandy, the New Jersey Relief Fund,
the table is right behind us.
Rutgers Day today is just to celebrate
Rutgers University, all campuses
from Livingston to Douglas.
It's almost like a big carnival celebrating the students,
the upcoming students and their families,
just for everybody to come together
as one united family at Rutgers.
What we have here is a banner,
it's a Jersey Strong Banner.
It's an initiative that Rutgers started
back when Hurricane Sandy hit.
The banner has every single town and city
in New Jersey and we're just encouraging
people to come sign it and show support for
the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
Today's Scarlet-White Spring Football Game
is going to be collecting proceeds
to go to Hurricane Sandy Relief.
So fans enjoying the game can come in at no charge
or at their choice donate a nominal fee,
that again will go to Hurricane Sandy Relief.
Please give a warm Rutgers welcome
to those that are with us today.
The players will be wearing special jerseys.
Those jerseys will have the names
of 90 of the impacted towns,
and the jerseys will then go to
those impacted towns following the game.
