I've got colleagues in the office who give blood
quite a lot and I used to give blood
quite often, but I've been guilty of
falling out of the habit,
so I was encouraged to join back in, and that's why I
came along today, it's something I've
been meaning to do for some time.
We've been coming here for a long time together now,
so we encourage each other
and we were just due to come
so it was nice to come at Christmas as well,
when it's especially needed.
I'm quite a regular blood donor, but I've been
out of action this year because I got my ears pierced
and I had an operation, so this is actually
my first time this year that I've been able
to do it, so it just coincided with it
being Christmas time.
Well, I give blood quite regularly, so I just thought, you know,
Christmas time, you're doing the blood drive,
I might as well come in and support it.
I've been donating platelets for many, many years.
I started donating blood when I was 18,
when I went to Glasgow University,
and the vans came out to Glasgow, and really,
to be honest with you, I've been donating all my life.
I've been giving blood for
a number of years now. I gave years ago
and then I fell away from it, and I got back to it
in the last 10-15 years. I received my 25th
donation badge today, so not too bad. I'm getting there!
I'm a regular platelet donor
and I come along because it's,
it's very easy, and it helps people
it doesn't cost me anything.
I get peace and quiet for a little time while I'm donating!
You'll know someone who's
benefited from it yourself.
So, simple!
You're helping others at a very low cost and easy process.
I do give platelets, which means that you
can give it every three weeks, instead of
maybe two or three times a year, which means
that you regenerate the platelets
so it means you can actually
give more, and more often.
It's painless, it's easy, the staff are lovely in here
so please, do come along.
Merry Christmas! (Have we got to do it on cue?)
I dunno!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
Happy Christmas everybody!
Merry Christmas!
I'd like to wish everybody involved in
blood donation and platelet donation
and plasma donation the very best wishes
for a merry Christmas, and a happy new year.
Right, 1-2-3...
Merry Christmas!
