today I thought I'd make a short video uh... from my webcam which I don't normally do
but since I have this anti reflective coating or treatment on
my lenses on my glasses the reflection isn't such a big deal
but that's not the point of the video today we will be discussing uh... anti
spam policies from the three major free email providers which are Yahoo!
Hotmail and also Gmail
now what prompted this video was I logged into my Yahoo! email the other day
and I received fifteen spam emails
now some of them were from phished accounts from contacts that I have in my Yahoo!
email and some of them are from
uh... random
uh... email addresses
such as for example random letters at random letters dot com
now it's pretty hard to block those addresses because they constantly change
they can change one letter
and then it would get through
even though you blocked another address
so basically
the only thing you can really do is delete it
but I think if Yahoo! or any free email service was
smart they would block it at the server level and uh... make a rule that
addresses from
like random letters at random letters dot com or
whatever
would not get through
or would not be allowed as traffic on their server
because chances are those are not legitimate emails now if it's a like a
stationary address that doesn't change and it's always the same it's a constant
then it's pretty easy to block it in the blocked addresses under the mail
options
but other than that it's pretty difficult as a user to block it so it's more it would be
better if uh... the Yahoo! or any free email service would block it at the
server level to prevent their customers from getting spam
I mean they put out these free services and they expect people to buy the like
uh... Yahoo! mail plus or whatever and why would anybody buy it if they can't
block spam like that
so the next part of the video I would like to discuss which you think is
the best free
email service out there out of Yahoo! Google
uh... which is Gmail and
Microsoft which is Hotmail live dot com or outlook dot com
and
which one have you had the best experiences with maybe you have a
different free email service that you like to use that I haven't mentioned
out of the three that I mentioned I think the best experience I've had is with
Gmail
or Hotmail
Microsoft because uh... they have I've had very little issues and I get very
little spam every now and then I'll get a spam email and
you know it's not as bad as Yahoo!
uh...
and I don't know what Yahoo!
uh...
what their spam practices are obviously they aren't very strict because you get a
lot of spam
email through so uh... I just thought I'd make a short video and a yeah that's pretty
much it leave a comment below and tell me what your thoughts are on are which is
the best free email service out there
or what you think companies could do like Yahoo! Google or Microsoft to improve the
anti spam policies that they have
