Hi I'm Melissa Sweet. This is engagement season, 25% of all the brides in the US get engaged
over the holidays so right now girls are out there bubbling with excitement ready to plan
their weddings and choose their bridal gowns and for 2014 were seeing some trends emerge
that are super fun. This idea of blush or champagne colored gowns super fresh and new,
vintage detailing really hot this year, the high-low hemline has made a comeback and alternative
necklines are really important for 2014 brides. I pulled some dresses from David's Bridals
that show some examples of these trends in action. This first one is actually a Melissa
Sweet at David's Bridal and its this perfect brush tone, I say its perfect but it look
good on some many skin tones. That white and ivory sometimes girls don't feel their best
so this is a great option. Also, this vintage detail you can see this sort of vintage look
lace with the tiny little beads. Super hot right now. This idea of taking fabulous things
from bygone areas and incorporating them into modern dressing, girls are loving it. Now
speaking of times gone by, the high-low hemline we saw in the '60s we saw again in the '80s
its made a comeback but its come back in this graceful way so it translates into bridal
dressing perfectly. This dress from Galina actually has a tulle overlay again high in
the front, low in the back allows for a perfect little peak out of a shoe it adds some kicky
personally it's a way to change up the look. Now alternative necklines are really important
right now, while strapless remains important to bridal overall is a great way to get a
little bit of extra coverage with a little sleeve with a little strap gracing the shoulder
even a little net on top and it just gives a different picture a different line that
we haven't been seeing for the last two seasons. So brides are loving the opportunity to choose
a new neckline for their neckline. Also it gives more options for the accessories that
they might choose, a necklace, an earring how they are going to wear their hair it all
plays together with that high-low hem we were talking about you can really open the doors
to what kind of shoes you want to show your personality through. Of course if you need
your hanky and your lip gloss close by you want to have a great little clutch or bag
to put it in so this is when we can get into really creating a fun and very personalized
look with all of the accessories. All of these products that I have here today again came
from David's Bridal. I really encourage brides to just go into stores and try on gowns. See
what looks really good on you because ultimately that's what matters, not a trend of a moment
but how do you feel. What is the most beautiful way you want to enter your wedding. Do that.
