Hey folks. Keith Luscher here for another Prospect & Flourish Every Day moment. I was
having a conversation the other day with a client and just going over some specific prospecting
strategies of referrals and introductions and so on and one of the points I found myself
having to clarify is what prospecting is, and what prospecting isn't.
Prospecting is not selling. Okay? When we talk about prospecting, it's the continuous
activity of exploring for and qualifying new people to meet and talk with about your business.
You need to be doing that all the time. It needs to be second nature. But, if you are
watching a sporting event of one of your kids and you're chatting with some of the other
parents, that's okay to be prospecting. But it's not a good time to be selling. Okay?
Prospecting is NOT selling. Selling comes after. So, that's just another point I wanted
to share today. This is a very specific, focused activity. You should always be prospecting,
but you should not always necessarily be selling.
That's today's tip. If you have any tips you would like to share, or questions to be answered,
everyday@prospectandflourish.com. Thanks so much. Take care.
