>> [background music] You know it's an amazing world we live
in, a world of constant change, whether it's political systems
in North Africa, whether it's the chaos of nature,
floods in Asia or a mountain of past problems,
whether it's economic problems and the whole crisis we've seen
in Europe and how that transferred
to different parts of the world.
All the technology, with communication technology,
speeding information around the world so much.
The issue is not that we don't know the world is changing,
the issue is number one, it's changing so fast but number two,
it's not always clear what those patterns mean.
Part of what this program is about is
to make sure senior educational administrators and officials,
have a really dramatically focused understanding of some
of the changes that are happening
out there in the world.
We're not dealing with the people who don't know
that these changes are happening,
we want to accelerate the knowledge of it
so that there's an advantage as it passes
through the education system.
Our challenge is not
that Canadian education is bad, quite the contrary.
But in order to keep up with what's going
on with the BRIC countries, Brazil, Russia, India,
China and some of their progression in education,
we need to build on that good and as one book once said,
go from good to great.
And that's what this program is about.
