Looking in that fitness direction at such a young age was brought on by me having, you
know, major back surgery when I was 15. Having three fused vertebrates, couple steel rods,
some screws, ha, it's like an erector set in there. And then basically having a doctor
tell me I wasn't gonna surf again. Uh that spurred on some serious determination so now
doing this, you know, kind of right on I feel the absolute cutting edge of you know, exercises
for surfing. You don't want to be out when it's six to eight foot and feel like you have
to pull back on waves. You want to be able to go, you want, you want to see a position
on the wave and you want to just get there. I mean the main thing is to take hesitation
out of it. And that usually comes by feeling confident because you're in shape and you're
strong and you're flexible and that's what breeds confidence, especially in the water.
This is something that you can do in your office, in a very small space. All you need
is a ball, you don't need to get in your car and drive somewhere to work out or you know
a ton of machines. If you don't have those machines, you can't work out so this is gonna
get people really strong, really flexible. This is how I train, I train this way in hotel
rooms when I travel and I train this way when I'm home. I don't have to deviate what I'm
doing no matter where I go. This video is for anybody that wants stronger paddling muscles
so when the surf comes up, you know they're out there and they're on it and they don't
have to sacrifice being a little out of shape for the swell because they've been working
of the waves have been flat. This is just a constant strength builder, a constant kind
of tune up you can do. Which is super important for surfing because it's not, it's not good
everyday hahaha. So you gotta, you gotta prepare yourself for when it is good. You don't want
to miss out, you want to be out there. The main thing is to be healthy, strong and feeling
better than you felt 10 years ago. Which is um, I can actually speak from experiencing,
I feel better now than I ever did in my twenties.
