Hello there, I’m Jim Glover, That Branding Guy, for Once a Day Marketing. Today is Action
Wednesday and I had a great networking lunch yesterday and that’s what prompted me to
do today’s about networking follow through.
Here at Once A Day Marketing I’ve talked a lot about marketing and how it important
it is to build your contacts. What I’ m recommending is that you pick up the phone
or send out an email and select a few individuals and actually have lunch with them or perhaps
a cup of coffee. That way you are meeting face-to-face, you’re enhancing that relationship,
you’re building that relationship, you’re having a real conversation and what will happen
over time is that you’ll get opportunities for businesses.
Grabbing a cup of coffee or having that lunch is a great way to cultivate the relationship
with your contact. Over the last few weeks I’ve had some really good lunches and some
coffees with some individuals and here are some of the things that have come out about
it.
Once individual I met with started talking about how I might be able to help his non-profit
organization which he is a board member of. Met with another man who is more in the high-tech
side of things and he’s working with a national publisher who’s trying to get his story
out via the internet and his social media marketing. We talked about that.
I met with another woman who’s from back east who moved to Santa Fe and now we’re
talking about a social media project. Then through LinkedIn I reconnect with a client
from 10 years ago who’s in Chicago. We had a great conversation on the phone. So you
don’t always have to have that meeting face-to-face but it’s really nice. But it’s just great
to continue engaging these contacts and developing that relationship.
If you find yourself in Santa Fe, let’s do lunch. Please join me tomorrow for Recon
Thursday. If you need some branding support contact me to discuss an online or face to
face service engagement. My contact information is at the end of this video. I’m Jim Glover,
That Branding Guy; for Once a Day Marketing and we’ll see you next time.
