Hi, this is Tim with Eduware.
In this video, I want to give you an overview of the tug-of-war activity and the clicker
school online
I've already set up my virtual remote over here, and I've got a teacher remote and four student remotes
and I've also already added my students to
the system for this activity
so I am the first unique feature
of the tug of war and that's picking your team
the system will automatically assign teams but if you don't like what you see
You can press B on your remote to shuffle
or you can press A to let your students pick which team they would like to be on. They can do so by toggling A and B
to switch between team one and team two
If the teams end up un-balanced the teacher can press C on their remote to balance the teams
When you like the way the teams look,
press the right arrow to move forward.
okay
now it's time to pick the team's captain
you can let someone pick by pressing A and the student will select
their choices
or you can clear and let the system randomly pick for you
Once you like the way that your teams' captains are chosen,
press the right arrow to move forward.
now we're taken into the main interface for the tug-of-war activity
You'll see a question at the top here
And at the bottom you'll see a tug of war
and then right here
you'll see your options for how you'd like to show the answer choices. Right now no
answer choices are being shown
you can press A to show them all at once or B to show them one at a time
Let's see what B looks like
once all the answers are being shown press A to start the polling of the tug of war
The students' remotes are now active and they may submit their answers at any time
by pressing the letter
You'll see at the bottom here we have four boxes that represent the students that are currently registered
a timer, and a response counter currently showing 0 of 4 students have submitted answers
as the students submit answers in real time
you'll see
that the names light up in green
and then stay highlighted
the student may select several different answers
and the last answer selected will be the one that submits
Once all the students' answers have been submitted
the teacher then has to press stop
to stop the timer
now if something went wrong
you can press B to start all over again with the answering session
Or press A to move forward
now you'll see a detailed breakdown of the responses
this shows that
25% of the class chose letter A, 25% B, 25% C, and 25% D.
now the teacher can show the answer by pressing A
we see that D is the correct answer
Now we can show the tug of war animation to see which team won
by pressing A again
okay looks like the koalas took this one
now let's see an animation
okay when animation is done
you'll see a representation of the current score of the game at the bottom here
along with the current score of one
to zero
appearing on both the right and left side
of the tug of war animation
when you're ready to move forward, press the right arrow.
okay once again choose how you'd like to show your answer
pressed A to start the tug of war
watch the students answer in real time
and then once all the answers have been submitted
press B as the teacher to stop
press B to poll again if something went wrong
or press A to move forward
see your breakdown represented down here
and press A to show the answer
and A again to show the winner animation
okay it looks like the koalas took this one again
let's see an animation of the koala team
there they are playing tug of war
this is great
OH NO!
I see, the other team
has fallen in the mud pit and the koala team has earned a bonus round this is fantastic
okay now it says
in the next round only team B can earn a point but team A can stop them!
that means if team B gives a correct answer
they'll win a point
but if team A gives a correct answer
team B will not receive a point
Okay, let's move forward.
this is the bonus round now
once again choose how you'd like your answers to be selected
and press A again to start the tug of war
once the tug of war begins,
you'll see the students submitting their answers
when all the answers are submitted as a teacher press B to stop
everything went okay, press A to show the responses
A to show the answer
A to show the winner
this time, the basketball head won
let's watch the animation
Ah, yes
and the bonus round has told me that Team A stopped the other team from gaining a point!
Wow, this is really exciting!!!
let's see the analysis. You can choose to view a detailed analysis by pressing A
after you watch the animation
you'll see here a breakdown in a pie chart
by pressing B you'll see another pie chart breaking down the teams
and by pressing C
you'll see another graph showing
the different answers per student
to go back to the game press the lightning bolt
okay, let's move forward by pressing the right arrow
another question
choose how you'd like to display your answers choices
press A to start the polling
and then watch as the students answer in real time
when all the students are done
press B to stop
press A to show the response
see the breakdown here, A again to show the correct answer
and A to show the winner
in this case
neither team was able to submit a correct answer
the animation will reflect that with sort of a standstill animation
great okay
we can move forward to the last question now
by pressing right
once again
choose how you'd like to show your answer choices
press A to start the tug of war
watch as the students submit their answers in real time
and then once all the answers have been submitted
you're going to press B stop
press a to show the responses
view the breakdown, press A to show the correct answer
and A to show the winner
in this case
in this case, the basketball head won this round
let's watch this animation
okay so
that was our final question
now we're going to press the right arrow again
and get to see the winner animation
in this case, we get to see that the koala team won!
This is VERY nice! :)
when you're all done with this animation, you can press the right arrow to see the summary of
your entire activity
you'll see that the class average was 20%, median
highest,
and lowest are all reflected here
You'll see a chart over here
and by pressing B you can view
the student ranking
press the lightning bolt for
question breakdown
you can scroll up and down using the up and down arrows
to view these questions
the correct answers
and also see the class average for the answers cracked on these questions
when you're all done
press the star to go back to the summary
this has been overview of the tug-of-war activity on the clicker school
