It's hurting
the next generation of the filmmakers
because even though with the technology they can
make films easily without any difficulties that
we had or we faced when we were students,
but then, at the same time, their
opportunities are basically on Internet,
and Internet, even though is wide, but then
there is the YouTube that they can actually put
their films, but it still is not the same as when you go to a movie theatre,
to a dark theatre, to watch a film. So,
still you have to keep that in mind, and you have to
create an opportunity for these filmmakers.
Blockbuster films are good for the economy of the studios,
but then they have to think of
creating the next generation of the filmmakers. Steven
Spielberg is actually been around long enough, we need to
have the next generation of the Steven Spielberg. So I mean,
that's how it is, but I don't see that that is happening unfortunately,
for the reason that the Internet makes an
opportunity available to some of
the independent filmmakers to show their films online and
I think they they that is enough, but then
they don't get anywhere beyond that, so
it's a little like we're in a transition
at the moment.
