With the staff, the staff represents where notes belong and eventually I'll teach you
all that it will represent where the pitches are. But the first thing to able, the different
kinds of staffs essentially there’s different ways to represent notes and these are called
the clefs. There are four main types of clefs but the two that you’ll probably see unless
you’re playing a viola or a certain string instrument is either the treble clef which
looks like this or the bass clef which looks like this. What these represent are different
ranges of notes on the piano or any set of notes, each clef represents a different set
of pitches and the whole spectrum of notes can be obtained by basically ranging from
this point up to this point for notes. This note is representing a lower pitch note which
is a note that sounds lower like a bass note whereas up here represents higher pitch notes
which are notes that’s up higher essentially.
