Hi everybody. Here's the thing.
Back in August I did a one blog post a day challenge.
And I really liked it. It was a lot of fun,
it was really interesting,
it was a good way to get people talking and thinking.
But, I've been thinking that I need to do something different.
And one of the things that I've been thinking a lot
about recently is sort of just grass-roots video.
The ability to use really cheap, inexpensive, and accessible video devices.
I'm using a Flip HD right now to record this.
But, what I want to do is I want to sort of find ways to engage the community.
So, what I'm thinking about doing is basically just asking a simple question.
In this case it has to do with community
and seeing what kind of video responses we get
over the course of say a week or a week and a half.
I'd then like to take those responses and mash them together to create
sort of a video that describes from our perspective what the answer might be.
So, with that in mind, this week's question is
I'd like YOU to define community.
Community as it exists for you.
When you hear the word community, what do you think about?
Do you think about a physical space?
Do you think about a virtual space?
What does community mean?
And at the end of this little experiment we'll come back together,
we'll share our results, we'll look at what the mashed up video looks like,
and maybe even get an extended conversation going around about that.
So, in subsequent weeks we'll explore other themes,
but for this week it's community.
So, everybody, what does community mean to you?
