Hi everyone. OK, here's a little bit of a blast from the literal past.
I don't know if you've followed some of the controversy online?
But some guys decided to do a port of Theme Hospital.
Literally taking all of the game assets and what have you and rebuilding it so it can run on the
mobile platform. It's pretty much abandonware as games go.
They've done a pretty good job. The controversy is that some guy then took the
open source code. They released the game for free open source.
Someone guy took the game and basically decided to
whack it on the app store, for a cost.
From what I can tell. But,
here's the original
game as it were running on my phone.
You've got full mouse control
so you can go into all of the various things.
You can then drop down and
put your rooms in.
Place the door.
It really is,
your full
Theme Hospital running on your Android phone.
How cool is that?
You can see there's my doctor.
For anyone who was around many many years ago
playing computer games on the Amiga and PC or things like that you'll remember Theme
Hospital, also it made a brief appearance on Playstation 1 I think. If my memory serves.
Classic Bullfrog game Peter Molyneux.
It works surprisingly well. If you've got a high resolution screen
720p screen I'd recommend running the game in normal mode. If you try and load it in the higher
resolution
basically you can't really click on anything on the screen you can't move around the screen
properly at all. All of these icons are just far too small to deal with and
you end up with bars on the screen as well, down the sides.
Obviously I need to do quite a bit more to actually...
That is Theme Hospital, played on an Android phone.
Bet you never thought you'd be doing that ten years ago?
