this year's team has been an exceptional team
in the fact that they're really a team.
They work together like I've never seen any other team.
They just seem to have a very great camaraderie.
Riding is a really unique sport.
It's not like any other sport where you just play
with a bunch of other kids.
Your teammate is kind of this living, breathing animal
that you can't talk to and you kind of have to figure out
a way to communicate with.
It's just really fun.
I want you feel like your horse is talking you into being
something that you don't want to be.
Is my horse making me feel loose?
Is my horse making me carry my hands too high?
Set them up and be patient.
It's the patient rider that's going to win clock.
We're up at 5:30 in the morning
and we don't get home until 6 at night.
This is the year that I'm senior captain.
And we started off winning every show in the fall but one.
We have a lot of really good riders,
a lot of nationally ranked juniors that came onto our team now
that are showing at amateurs outside of BU.
[giving instructions]
I started riding when I was three.
Basically as soon as I could sit up
my mom put me on a horse.
I ride horses because once I started, I was hooked
and I could never stop.
Once you build a bond with them
they know you and they know what you like
and you know what they like.
They're more than pets, they're athletes.
They're also your teammate.
It's really unique in that way.
Most horse people just love them,
and they just want to understand
and they want the horses to love them back.
I mean I'm really happy with how the team's done all year.
We've become a really close team.
And everybody works really well together.
We all support each other.
Even people that aren't showing, come to horse shows
to clap and cheer for us
so it's been really greet and regardless
what the outcome is I'm so happy with how this year went.
And I definitely couldn't have asked for a better last year.
