Heat-Haze With Ib
In a certain museum, on a certain art exhibition one day
No one is here.
In these rooms so creepy they can make you sick
I had no clue how to get out
So I walked along with you.
"Flowers're nice.
"Your flower, pretty please?"
Eyeing the rose
The thing muttered boldly.
Aah, towards the smiling painting,
You offered your rose
But when
I realized
It couldn't be undone, I was too late.
CRUNCH as it devoured the red rose
Torn apart and withering away.
The redness of the petals
And your smell
Mixed together and made me choke.
The lying canvas rumbled,
"That was yummy!" grinning ear-to-ear.
And as if it ransacked my rose, too,
Everything blacked out amidst the painting's cackle.
I awoke
In the museum where my watch stopped ticking.
What time is it now?
I wonder how much time passed since I've been lying on the floor.
I remembered all too vividly the blue rose.
But, you know,
It's pretty strange.
I remembered my dream yesterday
Standing in front of the same painting.
"Come on! I'll pull you over!"
As I jumped into the painting
You turned your cheek away
Not looking at me
Speaking to something else.
Just as I got out of this world
It kidnapped you
And locked you in.
My piercing screams
And outstretched hand
Grabbed at air through the gap in the picture.
This all-too-obvious warning:
"Even so, will you still jump in?"
In my darkening senses, I saw your profile
And it seemed to me like you were smiling.
No matter how many times the world blacks out
They all steal it away with smiles.
How many times has this been?
It's about time I've realized it.
If it's all the same story, there must be only one ending.
Beyond that same old painting.
I pushed you aside to make the exchange, and instantly
She ran off with the blue rose.
The blue of the petals and the look of your eyes
Reflected diffusely
On my creaking body.
I turn to your anxious face
"Go on ahead," I smile,
And as for all that happens in your average museum,
That something has come to an end right here.
In a certain exhibit, in front of a painting that had caught her eye,
The girl merely said,
"It was no good again,"
As she held a lighter in her hands.
