Belgium assists the displaced in Democratic Republic of Congo. Belgian Development Cooperation
Minister Charles Michel announced a donation of €1 million in humanitarian assistance
to the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The funds will help provide
sustenance for the estimated 70,000 people fleeing civil war in the region. It is also
part of a larger goal of the current Belgian European Union presidency to help stabilize
the humanitarian situation there.
Our appreciation Minister Michel and Providence bless Belgium for your swift actions to aid
the people of North Kivu. May the lives of the gentle Congolese people be graced with
the assurance of lasting security and peace
