(Josh) let's talk about the Gurkha name real quick. Where did you come up with the name
Gurkha. It's prolly something you get asked a lot about but it's not something we advertise
a lot about. (Kaizer) Gurkha the name Gurkha comes from
the soldiers they are Nepalease soldiers which are basically a mercenary group and they work
for the British military ahh for quite some time and ahh the Gurkhas are also known as
the most fierce soldiers in the world they are the special forces of infantry they jungle
warfare guys and they are absolutely the most lethal infantry men you ever come across.
They are known as people who have no fear none. Ahmm and that is what they are known
for. A prime example was ahhh a very famous story that just happened about eight months
ago. It came on CNN it came on the headline news everywhere.
(Josh) Ok (Kaizer) It was a Gurkha soldier who was going
back home he was on a train where a close two of forty or fifty bandits came on the
train and they were looting everybody from the train and they saw this young woman there
were about to *** her and ahh the gurkha guy saw this and took out his knife and killied
eight of them. The other guys all ran and those guys had guns so you know. This mand
didnt care and he was awarded every award basically from the indian government and also
the Nepales government. And that's the mentality of these people.
(Josh) Wow. (Kaizer) So a man hand to hand killing eight
men with his knife taking over fifty of them you know. hahahaha
(Josh) That's hard to wrap your mind around. (Kaizer) and that's their mindset but anyway
that was there that was a regimen of cigar basically what happened was in the old days
when the British colony when the British colonize the world in Jamaica India and all these places
the one thing that the British government made sure that the soldiers had was a lot
of alcohol and a lot of tobacco for these guys to enjoy themselves because a hundred
and fifty years ago and a hundred and eighty years ago two hundred years ago there were
absolutely zero no entertainment and some of these hell hole places that these guys
use to be stationed. And ahhh so basically the Gurkha was the first special forces group
of the British Army (Josh) Ok
(Kaizer) And ahhh they had the regimental cigar called the gurks all this was just a
nickname the young lieutenants called the cigars and ummm what happened was then they
had the regimental cigar they put the name Gurkha, it was actually pronounced Gurkha
G O R K A on the bands and one thing led to another that's how the regiment name of Gurkha's
came about. (Josh) Gotcha yea.
(Kaizer) And I took over the company in nineteen eighty nine from Goa India it was basically
a dead company I bought the brand and build it up ever since. We are known as the world's
most expensive (Josh) The Rollce Royce of cigars
(Kaizer) And ahh our clientele base is the upper echelon the same time a lot of we also
have a very affordable and line of cigars and thank you enough for supporting us.
(josh) In terms of a bit of your personal life your a pretty avid knife collector hunter
and I wrong on that? (Kaizer) No your correct on that.
(Josh) I'm judging you on your hat. (Kaizer) This poor hat has seen some better
days. I do hunt I love hunting with my friends it's it's an experience ah I've hunted all
of my life from India Africa the US well I'm heading to South America this year for some
red stag (Josh) ahh that should be fun.
(Kaizer) and that's one thing I also love to cook design kives to collect knives we
make alot of assault gear and tactical gear for a lot of military companies and organizations
through out the world so that's another passion of mine so I designing different weapons.
(Josh) The archive I understand you spend a very very long time blending that smoke.
(Kaizer) The archive was a cigar which is taken as close to twenty years to perform.
(Josh) Wow! Twenty years. (Kaier) Twenty years that's why it's called
the archive we used tobacco's we wanted to age the tobaccos. We wanted to see what it
would be like in a couple of years. It didnt perform and year after year we just kept trying
and finally we came out with the archive. And finally we came out with the archive and
that's exactly what was. Ahhh on great cigar also released it two years ago has gone gangbusters
ever since. This year's our hundred and twenty fifth anniversary of Gurkha so you'r going
