I have a business degree and I'm a local girl. I graduated from University of San
Diego.
I wanted to be in management. I thought that that would be an
area of opportunity and that you could make a good income.
So, I was thinking, you know, in terms of like working for a Xerox or a bank or something
of that nature.
And then I sat down and had my initial interview with Unum, and I started hearing dollar signs and I thought, "Woa,
I didn't know you could make that kind of money selling insurance." So
initially, this was no more than a practice interview for me. I just thought,
"I'll use the Unum folks, get this stuff down, and then I'll save my real skills for, you know, the
big guns."
And, much to my surprise, they sold me. Relationships are what make you
successful in this business, in my opinion,
and I think there's something to be said when your brokers have known you since you were
21 years old and out of college and they watch me get married, they watch
me
have children.
There is a family feel about it and I think I've been successful
because people know when they think disability they go, "There's that Stacy girl still at Unum."
So they know where to call, and I think that
people value the fact that you stick with an organization, and they know when they
call at Unum
Stacy's gonna be there.
