We begin today's bulletin with breaking news about a Maori MP.
Brendan Horan has been sacked from the NZ First Party.
Moments ago, leader Winston Peters
called on him to resign from Parliament.
NZ First MP Brendan Horan has released a statement
through his lawyer completely denying allegations
he took large sums of money from the bank account of his late mother.
The statement, from the MP's lawyer Paul Mabey QC, says
Mr Horan has been the subject of unwarranted and unfair publicity
which has implied that he is dishonest
and has stolen from his mother.
